Official Hampton County criminal records must be requested from the government office that created or maintains them. This private reference site is not a county department and cannot accept a public-record request. The routes below identify the local or South Carolina agency responsible for common record types.

This Is Not a Government Office. Hampton County Criminal History is privately operated and has no affiliation with Hampton County, the State of South Carolina, a court, or a law-enforcement agency. We cannot retrieve or change official records, provide a certified document, perform an official check, or receive an expungement application.

Need an Official Record?

Use the custodian that holds the specific Hampton County record:

  • Court case files: use the Hampton County criminal court cases route or ask the clerk of the court that heard the matter
  • Repository records: request the appropriate response from South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Criminal Justice Information Services
  • Arrest, booking, and local custody files: call the arresting agency or Hampton County Detention Center
  • State name checks: order through SLED CATCH, the official South Carolina repository portal
  • Police incident reports: ask the sheriff or city police department that created the report
  • Expungement: contact the Fourteenth Circuit Solicitor or the qualifying magistrate or municipal court

Published sheriff hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; confirm the records counter's availability before visiting. For filed General Sessions cases, contact the Hampton County Clerk of Court, Hampton County Courthouse, 1 Courthouse Square / Elm Street, Hampton, SC 29924, at 803-914-2250. Clerk hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
