Why We Built This Site
South Carolina provides several public access routes, but each source answers a different question. Hampton County law enforcement creates incident and arrest reports. Detention staff maintain local booking and custody files, although no official online county roster was located. General Sessions, magistrate, and municipal clerks hold their own case records. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Criminal Justice Information Services maintains the fingerprint-linked state repository and SLED CATCH name search. The South Carolina Department of Corrections and South Carolina Sex Offender Registry Tool cover separate record types. We collect the official contacts, portals, costs, and request steps needed to navigate those boundaries.
What You Will Find Here
- Record guides: ways to find and read Hampton County criminal court cases
- Official check instructions: the differences between SLED CATCH and a fingerprint-based self-review
- Agency contacts: the local and state offices responsible for Hampton County records
- Expungement information: South Carolina procedures and the proper court or Fourteenth Circuit Solicitor starting point
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, not part of Hampton County or the State of South Carolina. We are not connected with a court, sheriff, police department, SLED, or any other government office. Those limits mean:
- We do not retrieve official criminal records or conduct government checks
- We cannot submit an expungement application, public-record request, or court filing for a reader
- We cannot certify a court document, repository response, or other government record
- We do not offer legal advice about a charge, warrant, case, or eligibility rule
- We cannot promise that an agency's address, hours, fees, or procedures have not changed
An official copy must come from the office that maintains it, such as the Hampton County clerk, the arresting agency, or South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
Search Partners
Outside providers operate the search boxes that appear on some pages. They control their services, results, and prices. A paid registration reached through one of those tools may produce a referral payment to us, which supports free access to the reference material. We do not set a partner's fees and cannot direct or verify what its search returns.
